Unbox the CREST CR-LITE CR-L5

I collected this computer for a friend, let's see how it looks like

So I a gonna share some info about this dive computer. Disclaimer: I didn't have a chance to dive with it yet. So it's really fresh out of the box! Background: a friend had an older computer, needed to chane the battery so I took the watch in SG for him since he couldn't get it done in Thailand. Guess what, the factory couln't change the battery on the old watch so they automatically "upgraded" to a recent computer. How is that? I was amazed. They did the switch without even asking, charging for the price of a battery...I am still speechless and wouldn't mind having a chat with a sales rep of Crest on their very, very friendly customer policy. Anyway, bottom line, if you buy a CREST dive computer, you can obviously expect a great client experience in terms of after sales.

How it looks like

Well, honestly, looks cool. Fancier look than my good old Suunto (don't get me wrong, I still like Sunnto basic one). The design is "fresh", the computer is rather thin, pretty much like a sport watch (say a Garmin style), light. It is easy to use, switch mode, going throught the menu, settings etc.

My only negative observation, well, not very negative, but I find the charging system a little bit more complex that the standard USB system you often find on such computers. When clicking the charger on the computer you must be precise and dont touch it since it can be a bit unstalble. I cant live with that, just good to know that you better don't touch is once in place.

Came with various accessories, which may depend on the color your chose. So we got 1 set of Nylon Webbing (black) 1 set of Silicone Straps (black) 1 set of original charging case.

I must say I was positively surprised so see a free strap coming with the charger. You don't always get that!
